Sunday, 21 Feb: Went to Bentsen State Bird Park with Jerry and Leona followed by stop at DQ for ice cream, very nice, warm day

At the first bird feeding area Leona and I saw this beautiful red bird…..we just walked over to the area and watched. Later Nolan told us all the bird watchers were really upset with us for disturbing the birds…..guess we shouldn’t have gotten so close.

Lots of these pig looking animals in the park….I forgot what they were called!

One of the birds we really wanted to see was the Chachalaca

Then there were lots of Green Jays…very pretty bird

And this very pretty orange bird….I’m not a bird watcher so I don’t know their names

There was a tram that drove you all around the park to the different bird watching areas. This was one of the tram stops.

I don’t know what they were looking at but this was the end of the walk on the way back to the car.

Monday, 22 Feb: In January we all bought tickets for the Osprey Dolphin Boat Ride on South Padre Island. We waited until we thought the weather would cooperate and scheduled our tour.

I wonder if this fish was really caught?????

We arrived really early so we just hung around until time to get on the boat.

Some of the others got much better pictures than I did.

After the boat tour we had lunch at their restaurant….very good!
