Work Again, No News

Linda called and asked if I could work for a few hours on Monday. Great idea since I didn't have anything planned for Monday and I'm very nervous about everything. So, I went to work from 8:00 until 1:30.

Came home and realtor had called so I called her back. Buyer's had finally gotten back with her about what they wanted to replace the picture mix up deal. They wanted two coat rack shelves, two large metal black shelves I have my baskets on in the basement, and three wooden bookcases. My realtor had already told them that was out of the question before she even called me. That was a lot of stuff for a $50 picture (that's the high value of the picture I thought they wanted). My realtor and I agreed that they could either have the two coat rack shelves or one of the wooden bookcases. They never got back to us all day with an answer....don't know what's going to happen.

The buyer's realtor originally said she would try to schedule the closing for 8:30 am on 15 July. Heard nothing from her or my realtor all day about the actual time and date for the closing. About 7:30 pm, my realtor called me back and said the closing would be at 1:30 pm, 15 July.

Now, I'm really nervous....Nolan is still not any better and wants to totally get rid of everything he owns. That really upsets me and I don't know what to do.

Only 1 day until we close.

Work, Longaberger Meeting, Cute Kids

Worked from 7:00 am until 12:30 pm. Kind of a slow day....not very many loafers came in.

Prepared for my meeting Saturday night so all I had to do was get the snacks ready and set up the dining room table. Had 9 girls attend.....was a pretty good meeting. August meeting will be a combined meeting with another branch to show everyone the new product from the Bee. The Bee is a convention for Longaberger Home Consultants held once a year in Columbus, OH. It starts 29 Jul and ends 1 Aug. We always have such a good time.

Cain, Cara and Brenna got a new kitten and puggy. My sister, Nolan and I went to visit and check out the new pets and their new play space. They have a basement but it was not finished. A couple of weeks ago they painted the floors and walls and put down an area rug. They pulled out all their toys and they have a lot!!! Now they can play and play. It made a really great play room. Was good to see them again, it had been a while since we had seen them. It will be really hard to stay gone from them for very long!

Only 2 days left until we close.

Work, Buyer's Walk Through, Movie

Worked from 7:00 am until 2:30 pm. Came home and straightened up a little before the Buyers and the Realtors came by to do the final walk through before we close. Everything went very well. The Buyer is willing to choose something else instead of my daughter's picture and they are eager to buy more of our stuff at the yard sale. Hopefully we won't have much to get rid of after the yard sale....it's looking good.

Watched the movie "The Bucket List". Very good and then went to bed....I was tired.

Doctor's Appointment, Clean House

My grandmother needed to be taken to the doctor in Springfield for a 10:00 a.m. appointment. She was late getting in and it was lunch time before we left. Ate lunch at Steak and Shake then went home. Talked her into going to visit a few assisted living facilities in Lebanon which we will do at the end of August. I will feel much better when she is not living by herself. She turned 88 in April.

Nolan changed the mower belt and then mowed the yard. I vacuumed the house and picked up getting ready for the buyer to walk through on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Only 4 days left until closing.

Shopping, House Repairs, Minor Problem (I Hope)

Went to Lowes to finish getting the supplies we needed to put in the crawl space vents and the handrail for the basement stairs. Tried to find a belt for the lawn mower but no luck. Drove through the Dodge dealer but didn't see anything. Nolan is really thinking we should find a truck before we get the 5th Wheel......I just don't think we have enough time before we close on the house.

Got home and a friend came by and cut the holes for the vents and Nolan caulked around the edges where water might seep in. That project is done. Rail on stairway will have to wait until we get the furniture out of the basement. It's a very narrow stairway and couch won't go out if the rail is up.

Buyers are coming for a walk through tomorrow at 3:00.....don't really know why but they are.

There may be a problem with some of the "stuff" they added on during the process of coming to an agreement on the contract. I was dealing with my realtor who was dealing with the buyer's realtor who was talking to the buyer. I was not hearing what they wanted directly and after reading more carefully the wording on the counteroffer I signed (Yes, I signed it), I was thinking they wanted a different picture than I now think they want......the picture I think they want is not mine, it's my daughter's and it's an original oil painting that's worth between $1500 and $2000. They can't have it.....we'll see how it turns out.

Closing, 5th Wheel

Things are moving along on the house sale. Termite inspection was done and time for buyer walk through was set (will have to change the time, they didn't ask me if I was available and I'm not). VA Appraiser comes back Friday afternoon. Only 6 days left and they are busy ones!

Decided to buy the used Holiday Rambler 5th Wheel. It's an 06 Alumnascape, 36' long and hardly been used. We're buying it from a private party and he has agreed to bring it to us since it doesn't look like we will find a truck before then. I'll have more room inside for my scrapbook stuff I think. I really like it, here are some pictures:

Now if we can find a truck!

Mom, Change of Plans

Another day:

Mom is still in the hospital. They did a stress but don't have the results yet. She seems to be OK but we really don't know yet. Doctors should be able to tell her more in the morning.

Trying to decide what to do is really hard. We may be changing back to a 5th wheel as our RV. Motorhome puts a stain on the budget. Need to decide in the next couple of days.

Only 7 days till closing.

Slow Day

Not much going on today:

Nolan left to haul a load of equipment back from Colorado Springs.

Cain and I ordered pizza for lunch and then watched a movie.

Called the MH owners and told them we were definitely interested in buying. Can't decide whether it's safe enough to ask them to hold it for us with a deposit.

Went to Cain's ballgame.

Mother called and said she was going to the emergency room for pain in her arm and chest. They admitted her but only as a precaution. They didn't really find anything wrong.

Only 8 days left till closing.

Work, House Repairs

Worked again today....not very profitable today. I was $54 off during my closeout!!!

When I got home Nolan was under the house in the crawl space, moving a little dirt and trash into a hole so he could put down the plastic for the vapor barrier. He also started working on the crawl space vent problem. Sure wish I had known that vents should have been there when we bought the house. He drilled holes from inside the crawl space through to the outside so he knows where they go.....will have to cut the holes out from the outside. Was getting late and he was not in a very good mood from crawling around under the house, so he stopped working on that project for the day. Hopefully, when he gets back from Colorado Springs, he can get it finished before Saturday. The buyer wants to do the walk through on Saturday. The only other thing which is not really a big deal is the hand rail on the basement stairway.

I actually made dinner and we "chilled out" for the rest of the day.

Only 9 days left till closing!

Work, Fireworks

Went to work at 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Truely enjoy getting out and working at this part time job!

Came home and rested after working at my "not so stressful" job.

Around 6:00 p.m. went to the community center for dinner, music, and fireworks.

Pretty much an uneventful day!

4th of July

A quite day for us. Researched all morning online to see if the 02 Holiday Rambler Endeavor and the 02 Monaco LaPalma were good deals or not. HR definitely is and LaPalma not so good but could probably get them to come down a little. Will try to make a deal for the HR next week.

Didn't do anything else all afternoon.

Only 10 days left till we close......

Searching for an RV

Boy, it sure is hard to decide what to do. But, you know I think I have to agree with Howard......do your research and then just do it! You can think too much about it and not get anything decided.

So, here's what I think we are going to do. I've looked on line for quit some time and only found a few motorhomes close by that we could look at. First one was at Camping World. We stopped there first and it had already been sold. Second one was at Reliable RV, both of these were in Springfield. I like the second one but not as much as the third one which is in Mountain Home, AR. We looked at it and I really, really like it. It's a 2002 (not a 2006, which I thought and mentioned in the chat room....was a typo in the paper). It's a Holiday Rambler Endeavor, 40', with most options. It only has 29K miles and was very clean. Nothing seemed to be wrong with it and it will only cost us $75K. Down side....that's about $20K more than I wanted to pay for something. After looking at our budget again, I think we can do it even with the higher gas prices.

Here are a couple of pictures:
Has a washer/dryer combo - one of the things on my list.....

I like the fabric and colors.....

Recliner and space for the computer......

Kitchen with tile floor.

Nolan is in charge of figuring out if all the mechanical things are good or not. Will decide for sure next week after we think about it some more.

Was a very long day....and we drove through 2 very bad storms where we couldn't even see the road. Ate dinner at Fred's Fish House. Excellent food! Was a good day overall!

Dentist, Work, VA Appraiser

Pretty uneventful morning......got ready to take Cain to his mother at work for his dentist appointment, ate lunch at Arby's, dropped Cain off, ran through the car wash, and back home.

Went in to work at the convenience store for the girl who regularly works weekday nights (she had the day off). Worked about 5 1/2 hours.....that's my kind of work day!!!

Realtor called to let us know that there were three items to fix/get done before closing......hand rail on basement stairway, foundation vents in crawl space, and put down a plastic vapor barrier in the crawl space. Shouldn't be too expensive; however, Nolan is thinking the vapor barrior will be a chore to get done....guess we'll see!

Only 13 days until we close......

VA Appraiser

The VA Appraiser came yesterday and looked over the house and took measurements. She was happy with everything except it looks like we will have to put some kind of vents in the crawl space area under the house. She said it wouldn't be too much trouble. Sure hope not!

Cain, my great nephew, is staying with us during the summer while school is out. He is 8 and loves to play cards and win. We have been having a great time and he isn't winning all the time!

We also made paper planes from a very cool book he had yesterday. The book is full of premarked papers that you fold to make the planes. Directions are easy to understand and you can make all sorts of planes......he's a very crafty sort of kid and so is his aunt.

Yesterday afternoon I went to Cara's last T-Ball game and then it was back home to see if Nolan had made it home from Colorado Springs yet. He will be making a few trips back and forth from Colorado Springs moving equipment for the company he was working for a couple of months ago. He was home and kind of tired. I finally got some sleep! I'm really not that scared when he's gone but for some reason I just don't sleep good.

Well, I ready to start this day so I'll go for now.

To BLog or Not to Blog

I'm really having trouble deciding whether I want to keep this up or not. So far, I haven't been very good at posting.

Went to the RV Dreams rally and had a great time! Didn't get very many pictures taken and the ones I did take were not nearly as good as some of the other Dreamers took. So, I'll borrow theirs for my scrapbooking.

While I was there we received an offer from a couple that wanted to buy the house and I was up and down all week with that. Ended up they did not accept my last counter offer but the house was shown two more times the following week.

Received an offer from one of the two lookers that we made a counter offer to and the buyer accepted. Our closing date to sell the house is now July 15 with the buyer taking possession on July 22. So far, everything is going very smoothly. Still afraid to start packing but next week we should have heard back from the VA Appraiser by then and will feel more comfortable doing a little packing.

We have been looking at RVs and have not made a decision yet. We initially started out looking at motorhomes and switched to 5th Wheels. Now we are back to motorhomes again. Hope to have something found by next week so that we can close the deal on the RV after we close on the house. Will immediately start moving stuff into the RV and moving stuff to it's designated new home. We have a place to store the stuff that will be sold sometime in August.

We have a plan, just hope it all comes together!
